Caroline & Mike get married!

As I stated in a previous post, this past weekend was CRAZY! We had two weddings on Saturday at two very different venues with two very different vibes and we LOVED them both! The Saturday morning wedding was held at Churchland Baptist Church (were the grooms parents were also married) and the reception was at the Norfolk Pagoda. We were a bit nervous with a completely outdoor reception but everything turned out swimmingly.  Carrie definitely had a vision for a simple brunch to be held in a "garden party" type setting. We used shades of purple on the tables with accents of wild flower type centerpieces, a yummy (and pretty) cookie bar, and a cool cake table decoration that I hope to post images of soon. I was a bit nervous as to how everything was going to tie in together but it was beautiful! Classic, timeless and beautiful.

A few things we loved. Carrie's Purple Heels! They were sexy and pretty and fun! We also loved the lavender boutonnières that Mike and his groomsmen wore. They smelled delicious and had a great simplicity to them. My absolute favorite part of the wedding...they had a prayer service before the wedding, a nice added touch to a blessed day.

I never got to post their engagement pictures so first, let me show you just a few shots of their "carousel" ride... Thank you Trey Tesoro and James Christianson!

And now...the grand finale, a few images of the big day!

Bridal Shoot: Mary Paige

What a crazy weekend for Antonia Christianson Events! We had a weekend full of rehearsals, weddings, floral meetings...and a FABULOUS bridal shoot on Sunday afternoon. I was so excited about the shoot on Sunday that I had to post just one beautiful picture of my pal and client Mary Paige. By now you probably recognize her from our blog as we have introduced her quite a few times and we are seriously counting down the days to her June nuptials.

The fabulous team of Trey Tesoro and James Christianson  from James Christianson Photography sent over just a few teaser images and I loved them so much I wanted to share just one (of course Mary Paige said it was OK).

Here she is:

Bride & Bloom Magazine

What an amazing year 2010 has started off as! We have great clients that we are excited to work with, a "Take Charge" sort of event staff and great opportunities brought upon us...such as the one I'm going to share today.

A few months ago I was presented with an opportunity to become one of the three event planners/designers featured in the ever popular magazine Bride & Bloom. We were given Turquoise as the "must use" color for the feature and chose Emerald as our accent. After a little soul searching through one of my favorite blogs we came up with the idea of using a "Secret Garden" to help us tie all of our design ideas together.

With only a few weeks to create and implement all of the design details for the shoot, I knew it was imperative to pull together our "A Team" of vendors that have the same take charge attitude that gets us through our amazing weddings week after week. Daevid Reed was first to come on board along with Patti Cakes, Inc., the ladies at RSVP Stationery, Maya Couture and of course the ever fabulous Eleise Theuer Photography. The entire team understood our vision which helped in more ways than I can explain!

Of course, our "secret garden theme" could not have been believable unless it was at one of our local gardens: The Hermitage Foundation Museum. (an amazing place for weddings!)

After much anticipation, the edition of Bride Bloom that we were featured on, hit news stands last week, here are a few more images from the shoot:

They picked quite a few images to feature, but I thought you might enjoy a few more.

This is our favorite picture of our good friend Daevid! He provided us with amazing floral arrangements! Thanks so much!

We almost forgot... this beautiful bouquet was featured in the same magazine under the header
"25 Best of Bouquets". Congrats Daevid!

Julia & Reggie: A Spring Engagement

Let me introduce you to Reggie and Julia, a beautiful couple getting married this summer. I was first introduced to this couple by my good friend and amazing photographer Lissa Hatcher (who is also the mastermind behind these amazing images), who said that we would be a great fit...and she was RIGHT! Julia keeps me on my toes, makes me laugh hysterically and I love how this couple loves each other!

Here are a few sneak peak images of Julia & Reggie...

Oh, and notice her dress, it's from Two Birds (my absolute favorite bridesmaid dress on the market right now).

Getting to know Mary Paige and Nick

I have introduced you to Mary Paige and Nick a few times throughout the last year...but never like this! Mary Paige is an Alpha Phi (just like me), a cheer coach (just like I was) and proud Virginia Girl (again, like me)...we hit it off the very first time we met and we have since become good friends. I often forget that we met in a client/vendor meeting! This June, I will finally watch my good friend get married, to a hilarious yet sweet man, while surrounded by her friends and family and our sisters in Alpha Phi. I'm more than excited!

MP sent me this great video that their best man and video genius John Grubb made for them to kind of chronicle their lives together thus far. John and his partner Craig Vogel started "Your Legacy Video" a few years back in Atlanta and I love the product they offer. One of their wedding video packages includes this great "Bride & Groom" video seen below.

I cannot wait to show you all of the details to their June wedding in a few short months...which will be shot by none other than my other half James Christianson.

A little easter inspiration.

I love this time of year...I have been blessed with a multi-cultural religious heritage and I get the innate pleasure of celebrating easter with my hubby and boys and passover with my siblings and mom. We truly get the best of both worlds and I actually enjoy teaching my boys about how I was raised (which is different than how we raise them). Anyways, whenever I think of spring and these holidays I think of beautiful pastels, the sweet airiness of spring and the calm before another crazy event season. I thought I would start off this weekend with a little purple pastel inspiration.
