Angie and Tom: A Citrus Wonderland...the Slideshow.

We posted about the beautiful wedding of Tom and Angie earlier in the week but we wanted to also share the picture slideshow that Scott & Adina create for each and every client. We hope you enjoy just a small glimpse into their amazing day!

Thanks Hayne Photographers!

Anne Marie and Russell Get Married!

Thanks to Dr. Ed Showalter, professor at NC Wesleyan, Anne Marie and Russell started dating and were married a few months ago on their 10th Dating Anniversary. If it wasn't for Dr. Ed saying "Stop flirting and start dating already," we may have never had the honor to coordinate their beautiful wedding at The Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk. It only seems fitting that the theme of the night was "Because of Ed, We Wed!" Ed was there that evening to celebrate and offer a loving toast to the bride and groom. The event was amazing thanks to all of the great vendors involved. Danny from Astro DJ's kept the party going all night long with their love of 80's hair bands (come on, you know you love it too!). Jeremy Kilgore of Blue Steel Pro-Lighting did a fantastic job accentuating the flowers and architecture of the museum. Speaking of flowers, HollyDays Florists, great florist and cousin of Anne Marie, did an amazing job with the floral arrangements for the event. The cake was created by Glenna Cason, and you may recognize Al Sokolik, Justice of the Peace and good family friend of Anne Marie and Russell. The always great Lissa Hatcher shot amazing images of the wedding. Our favorite memory of the night was when Anne Marie walked down the aisle with her mom, just like I did when I married James! Congrats Anne Marie and Russell!

Angie and Tom: A Citrus Wonderland

The staff at Antonia Christianson Events has had the immense honor of working with Angie and Tom for the last 18 months and finally last month we were honored to coordinate their much anticipated wedding. The ceremony and reception were held at The Westin in Virginia Beach and everything looked beautiful! The ceremony was a winter wonderland in the middle of June, while the reception was full of summer with a fun lemon-lime theme. Daevid's of Norfolk did an amazing job capturing the two themes with his always fabulous floral arrangements in both the ceremony site and reception room. The lemon-lime wedding cake and the Rolex Watch groom's cake were created by the very talented Emily Patti of Patti Cakes.

Angie kept the vibe of the event fun from the moment that guests sat down to wait for their ceremony to begin. Guests were greeted by the local beach favorite Jesse Chong (and of course his fantastic guitar skills) and also a video montage of clips from the couples favorite movies (Sarah Jessica Parker played Angie, so FUN!), which played before the wedding party walked down the aisle. It was a great way to show guests their love of movies that they both share. To carry out the movie theme, there was a popcorn and DVD bar featuring popcorn flavors like Mimosa and Margarita and Tom and Angie's favorite movies (What wedding is complete without a popcorn and movie bar?). At the end of the night, a donut and milk bar was set up for guests to grab something sweet on their way out. Every detail was carried through perfectly and we are so happy for Angie and Tom!

A few of our favorite details/moments of the night:
1. Roger Cruz (from Astro Entertainment) had the crowd moving and shaking all night! He is always a guest Favorite!! But his dance floor and the entire event ambiance would not have been complete without the work for Pike Media Resource!

2. BBJ Linen, one of our favorite national linen companies, completely handmade the linens for this reception. We alternated yellow, white and green custom designed table caps on the round and square reception tables.

3. Angie even put a cute note on all of the menu cards letting the guests know that "they should not go hungry at this wedding". From Tomato Soup Shooters to Oyster Po Boy sandwiches Angie thought of every guests favorite food...they even served Doumar's famous icecream cones filled with lime sorbet. (brought out on absolutely adorable pizza peels).

4. Each guest not only received a favor...they received a gift bag full of goodies to take with them. Angie and Tom took extreme pleasure in making sure their guests knew that the happy couple were honored to have each guest at the wedding...just as their guests were honored to take part in their special day.

Finally: Our favorite Memory. Angie and Tom did an Antonia Christianson Events First...they lead the processional down the aisle and their bridal party followed behind. LOVED IT!

The photographer, Scott Hayne, shot these amazing images of the wedding!

Below are our two favorite images of the night...The brides sister and the grooms daughter enjoying themselves in the lounge right off of the dance floor...And the cake illuminated so beautifully passed the white dance floor!

Invitation Suite Inspired by Our Hot Summer Colors Post

Good friend and previous client, Mary Paige Larsen, designed this amazing Invitation Suite after reading our blog post "Hot Colors for Summer." We love this design and really think it goes great with our idea for a yellow and blue summer wedding. Thanks MP!

A Baltimore Engagement: Stephanie and Calvin

We can not wait for September 24th to roll around. One because it is the day that my lovely husband, James, and I will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. And two because we will get to celebrate the marriage of Stephanie and Calvin! This fun-loving couple recently took engagement pictures in Baltimore and we wanted to share a few images with you all. They will be getting married at The Lesner Inn in Virginia Beach with a very out-of-the box design scheme, which we absolutely love about them! Pops of orange will be used throughout the whole cocktail-vibe event, which is a great end to our summer season! If James and I had to pick any couple to share our special day with, this fun couple would definitely be our top choice!

Thank you Tamela Kemp for these images!

Beautiful Bridal Shower

A few months ago we were honored to be a part of Leila Khalil's bridal shower, an amazing publicist and friend from California. We wish there were more venues like this locally because it is a great location for any type of event. The theme was "L is for..." and every detail from the guest book, to the cake, to the custom perfume bar all carried it out exactly. Congratulations to Leila and Tony! I am a better person because I know you both!

Meet Wes and Erika!

We are so excited to be planning a beautiful wedding for Wes and Erika! This Fall, the fabulous couple will be taking their vows in the sand as their family and friends join them on the beach. Here's a sneak peek of the two lovebirds!
Thank you to Trivium Studio for these awesome photos!

Hot Colors for Summer

We are always looking for a fresh color idea for weddings, so here is our pick for a crisp, clean summer wedding: Yellow and Blue! We love the concept of a beautiful blue with fun yellow accents. This color combination is great for any type of vibe you would like to give off at your event. We can envision using these colors outdoors by the water or for a more formal look, inside at a museum. The colors are a very classy and elegant choice that can really capture guests attention for your entire event. Throw in little details really capture  the essence of you and your groom and you are sure to have a wedding that is the talk of the town.

The Wedding Event: After the Show

We were honored to participate in the first annual Wedding Event this past weekend at the Portsmouth Renaissance. It was great to spend a Sunday afternoon in July with some of the best vendors in Hampton Roads! We had a great time...met some beautiful brides and brought a little sunshine to the show with our happy color scheme...Let us know what you think!

Thank you to Trivium Studio for the images!
